The National Horse and Pony Network launched in January 2008 to provide FREE information for anyone who loves horses.
Why? Vicki Jayne Maris BA Hons who is a Horsemanship Tutor comes across time and time again people struggling, in need of information, advice and guidance on a wide range of horse related issues that are way beyond an hours horsemanship lesson. Knowing this problem was not just limited to her geographical area. Along with an insight that only a fraction of people are enlightened enough to ask for advice and support from a professional. Therefore there must be people out there struggling and not knowing who to turn to. Her dream was to offer people FREE information with links to experts available 24 hours a day 356 days a year at a touch of a button and so the National Horse and Pony Network was born. (As it turned out her idea that people wanted FREE information was correct, as the website attracts between 2,000 to 3,000 hits per day).
The National Horse and Pony Network continues to grow from strength to strength. This is due to the people finding and using the website. Hits continue to grow month on month. Strong working partnerships have been forged with a wide range of experts, equine companies and other horsemanship practitioners, too many to list and thank here. These are highly valued partnerships, as experts have contributed to the website content. Please check out the website content you will see the growing popularity of our partnership approach.
Our aims are:-
- By providing FREE independent information with links to experts no horse owner should struggle in regard to horse care and welfare, so horses need not suffer as a result of ignorance.
- To showcase innovative, quality products and services so people can make informed and educated choices on their purchases.
- Provide information on the latest special offers and discounts people can save money.
- To make learning about horses interesting and fun, to encourage people to develop their horsemanship and to act as a platform for people to find out more.
While Vicki Jayne Maris’s passion is for horsemanship to be as natural as possible, as she is an Inspirational Horsemanship Tutor, she recognises that for many people horse ownership and riding is traditional and main stream. Therefore you will find the National Horse and Pony Network is not marketed or branded to be a natural horsemanship website. It offers a wide spectrum of views. However there is plenty of information about natural horsemanship on the website and the network is always delighted to work in partnership with natural horsemanship practitioners and main stream equine concerns.

How is the website funded? If you notice from looking at the website it is not a commercial website, it has no shop, flashing advertising banners etc... It is a FREE information website. Some companies work with us on a FREE partnership basis to support each others work. Other companies pay a very small fee to work with the National Horse and Pony Network (to cover cost). However mostly the website is funded by Vicki Jayne Maris, not only in terms of money but time to create and maintain the website, this along side her Freelance Horsemanship Tutoring keeps her very busy.
